Stainless Brazil certifies outstanding suppliers in 2009
An evening of homage and recognition. In the end of November, Stainless Brazil certified 100 suppliers that stood out in 2009 for the quality of their products and services. The event was given prestige by the Technical Director Frédéric Midy, Commercial Director, Frederico Ayres Lima and Production Director Clênio Guimarães, as well as the general managers and managers of the Company. The Technical Director Frédéric Midy thanked the effort of the awarded companies in supplying products and services of assured quality, in the programmed period, allowing Stainless Brazil to fulfil the commitments made with the customers. According to him, ‘it is through this type of relationship, based on the ever growing demand of the markets as regards quality, assistance and unique service, that the Company keeps itself alive and in a continuous pursue to alternatives so that our steel can have higher added value to the customer.’ Suppliers’ Qualification Programme Stainless Brazil develops a work of narrowing down of the relationships with their suppliers, focused on the continuous improvement and improvement with rupture. The methodology used is the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), contracts by performance, adding integrated solutions to the acquisitions, and not only the supply of material. That improvement is one of the primary conditions to allow Stainless Brazil to develop its processes and to stay competitive, always occupying new spaces in the global market. In that context, the Company launched, nine years ago, the Suppliers’ Qualification Programme (PQF), which recognizes and values the suppliers that meet requirements such as: delivery, quality, zero qualitative non-conformity, performance equals to or greater than 80%, safety as well as social responsibility. Votorantin Metais' General Commercial Manager, Francisco Martins, reminded that his company has been receiving Stainless Brazil’s Certificate of Assured Quality for nine years. ‘Stainless Brazil model is unique and requires the suppliers to always meet the requirements. The fact of being considered qualified is quite an accomplishment and we want to always be in the vanguard among those that have the largest number of awards.’
