Plant in Timóteo (MG)


Aperam South America integrates the Aperam Group. It is the sole producer of flat-rolled stainless and electrical steels in Latin America, and it also produces flat-rolled special carbon steels. It is the leading company in the Brazilian market. With 2.4 thousand employees, its installed capacity is around 900 thousand tons of liquid steel.


In addition to its plant in Timóteo, the offices in Belo Horizonte, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Aperam South America has partnerships with other divisions of Aperam Group in Brazil, such as Aperam Services & Solutions - with distribution units in São Paulo, Caxias do Sul (Rio Grande do Sul state) and Campinas (São Paulo state) -, and the units for manufacturing and distribution of tubes in Ribeirão Pires and Sumaré (both in São Paulo state).


Aperam Bioenergia produces charcoal from planted eucalyptus forests. Its operations are in the mesoregion of Jequitinhonha Valley, in the North of Minas Gerais state, with an annual installed capacity of 1.4 million m³ and with the potential of reaching 2.2 million m³ in the coming years. Its production supplies the Blast Furnaces of the plant located in Timóteo


The three major production lines of Aperam South America and their respective applications are:


Flat-Rolled Stainless Steels: used in the areas of construction, transport, white goods, health, food, capital goods, tableware and cutlery, among others.


Flat-Rolled Electrical Steels: consisting of GO (grain oriented), NGO (non grain oriented) and HGO (super-oriented grain) lines, they present excellent magnetic properties and guarantee higher efficiency to electric equipment. They are used in the transformers, electric motors and power generators industries, among others.


Flat Special Carbon Steels: used in the machinery, agricultural implements and tools industries, as well as in the re-rolling sector.
