Present in the daily life of many cities
Aperam South America has a very special way of being present in the locations that host its activities. Through Aperam Acesita Foundation, the social-educational, environmental and economical development is promoted in a complete and sustainable manner, by working with the community. The Company works with own and third parties’ programs - one of its focuses is ‘Education for Citizenship’ (Educação para Cidadania) - and its intervention strategy is assisting and monitoring projects.
In order to ensure sustainability in the region where it operates, Aperam South America seeks to strengthen its relationship with society. Therefore, the Company promotes several social responsibility actions in the Steel Valley (Vale do Aço), notedly in the city of Timóteo, and Jequitinhonha Valley, where it supports actions developed by Aperam Bioenergia - responsible for the production of charcoal to supply the Plant in Timóteo. The objective is to promote quality of life as well as integrated and sustainable development in the communities.
Aperam Acesita Foundation works in partnership with public agencies, and with national and international institutions through its own programs or by supporting initiatives of associations already constituted in the region. The four areas – Culture, Education, Environment and Social Promotion– work together in multidisciplinary proposals and as complementary work fronts.
