Aperam South America allies the long-lasting development of steel with the Companyís social responsibility. The Global Health Policy is part of this ambition for the Companyís development on a long term basis. This global concern integrates all dimensions of the human being and therefore it goes beyond the Companyís frontiers.

Three pillars support the proposal for health and well-being of all partners of Aperam South America:

• well-being of all the people involved with the Companyís activities is pursued as factors of perpetuity and success factors for the Companyís development;

• well-being of people requires an effective prevention with regard to health and industrial risks in a world where risk awareness is increasingly keen;

• well-being for everyone requires mastering organizational and material structures, in addition to providing controls to prevent or limit consequences of accidents or incidents.

In order to achieve the goals, Aperam South America proposes the following:

• identify, evaluate, eliminate or minimize industrial risks and risks to health;

• grant all employees and service renderers the right to demand compliance with health procedures; provide the managers means to create a working environment which enables everyone to exercise this right;

• act on behavioral aspects and develop personal commitment of all people involved in order to respect health-related standards and regulations. Each employee has the basic responsibility to take care of his/her health;

• provide training for the enhancement of knowledge;

• develop a partnership with customers with regard to toxicology and ecotoxicology;

• ensure that all internal and external communications are done with transparency and freedom;

• be exemplary with regard to legal and regulatory obligations.
